PAU’s former Assistant Olericulturist Dr Gagandeep Singh passes away

Dr Gagandeep Singh, Former Assistant Olericulturist, Department of Vegetable Science, Punjab Agricultural University, passed away in Canada. Born on March 4, 1971, he joined the service of PAU as District Extension Specialist (Vegetables) in March 1996; and then served the University as Assistant Olericulturist from November 1997 to April 2006.

Thereafter, he resigned and shifted to Canada. Dr Gagandeep Singh was the son of Dr Surjan Singh, Former Head, Department of Vegetable Science, PAU.

Dr Ajmer Singh Dhatt, Director of Research; Dr Jaskaran Singh Mahal, Director of Extension Education; Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication and Dr TS Dhillon, Head, Department of Vegetable Science, said that the untimely demise of Dr Gagandeep Singh is a great loss to his family as well as the vegetable science fraternity.

The faculty, staff and students of Department of Vegetable Science, PAU, expressed deep condolences to Dr Surjan Singh and family in this hour of grief. They prayed for the peace to the departed soul and give strength and courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
