A three-day State Level Surjit Patar Kala Utsav will be organized by the Punjab Kala Parishad and the PAU, Ludhiana at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) from February 24-26.
The event will be held under the patronage of Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, and presided over by Mr Tarundeep Singh Sond, Punjab Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister. Mrs Bhupinder Kaur, better half of a renowned Punjabi poet Dr Surjit Patar, will inaugurate the programme, while Mr Swaranjit Singh Savi, Chairman of Punjab Arts Council, will be the special guest on the occasion.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director, Students’ Welfare, PAU, informed that students from various colleges of Ludhiana will showcase their talent in literary, music, drama and dance items, being organized to promote art and culture, as done by stalwarts Dr Patar, and former PAU VC Dr MS Randhawa.
The three-day programme will be held at Dr Manmohan Singh Auditorium where eminent personalities like Gurpreet Singh Toor, IPS (retd.) and Mr Rishi Pal Singh, Registrar, PAU, will grace the occasion and poet Amarjit Singh Grewal will present popular poetic verses. Lundi, jhumar, malwaiyan da giddha, kawishri, etc. will also be held on the last day of the programme.
