PAU students clinch Gold & Bronze Medals at National Youth Festival

The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have brought laurels to their alma-mater by clinching Gold and Bronze medals during the 24th National Youth Festival YUVAAH: Utshah Naye Bhartat Kaa, organized virtually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in collaboration with the State Governments from January 12 to 16, 2021. The fest was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda Ji.

Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, PAU congratulated the students and the Directorate of Students’ Welfare for this achievement.

Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, said students performed very well in a short time and won laurels for the University as well as for the Punjab State.

Giving details, Dr Jaswinder Kaur Brar, Coordinator Cultural Activities, said PAU students won Gold and Bronze medals in panel discussion; and Bronze medal in creative writing after representing Punjab contingent at National Youth Festival.

The Supervisor of Cultural Activities and Team Manager, Sh Satvir Singh informed that before representing Punjab State at National Youth Festival, PAU students participated in Punjab State Youth Festival, organized by Directorate of Youth Services, Government of Punjab at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara from January 2 to 7, 2021.

At state level festival, PAU students, namely, Gurkanwal Kaur, Ujjalpreet Kaur Dhatt, Sharandeep Singh and Jasmine Sooch won Gold Medal in panel discussion. Students comprising Ujjalpreet Kaur, Dipanshu and Vishal Choudhary clinched Bronze medal in elocution, creative writing and sculpture making, respectively, he said.
