Ms Manjot Kaur, Ph.D student of the Department of Fruit Science, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has received a fellowship for pursuing Ph.D in Horticulture at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA.
She will be working on weed science and biology of horticultural crops. Ms Manjot Kaur was mentored by Dr Harminder Singh, Senior Horticulturist-cum-Head and Dr Anirudh Thakur, Associate Professor, Department of Fruit Science, during her M.Sc and Ph.D research at PAU.

She is a recipient of many awards and honours, which include Sardar Bahadur Lal Singh Medal for securing highest OCPA in M.Sc Horticulture (Fruit Science), Dr Jagdish Chand Thakur Medal in B.Sc Agriculture (Hons.), M.Sc Best Thesis Award, visiting student scholarship for Summer Training Program in Agricultural Sciences at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot, Israel and on Food Safety and Security held at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. In addition, she has won many prizes in co-curricular activities also.
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice Chancellor and Dr MIS Gill, Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, PAU congratulated the student for this achievement.
