PAU student Amanjot Kaur bags UGC Junior Research Fellowship

Ms Amanjot Kaur, a student of Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has brought laurels to the University by bagging the prestigious University Grants Commission- Junior Research Fellowship for her doctoral research. Amanjot Kaur will work on the “Status and factors influencing prospects of sugarcane cultivation in Punjab” under the supervision of Dr Pankaj Kumar, Extension Scientist.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU and Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Extension Education, also congratulated the student for her achievement.

Dr Kuldeep Singh told that she is a brilliant student and a recipient of merit fellowship in M.Sc. also. Her current research will address the crucial aspects for sugarcane cultivation in Punjab, he added.

Dr Kumar, while congratulating her, said that the research work will help to determine the status of sugarcane cultivation in Punjab and ascertain the factors influencing decision making of farmers for sugarcane cultivation. The PAU student will also ascertain the knowledge of farmers regarding sugarcane cultivation and prospects of sugarcane in Punjab, he added.
