To commemorate the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, a solemn and inspiring function was organized at the Students’ Home, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), this afternoon. The event was marked by devotional recitations, poetry presentations, and enlightening addresses, reflecting on the timeless teachings and supreme sacrifice of the revered Guru.
Dr Inderjit Singh Gogoanai, Principal, Khalsa College Senior Secondary School, Sri Amritsar Sahib, delivered the keynote address. In his soulful and thought-provoking talk, Dr Gogoanai highlighted the values of courage, compassion, and spiritual strength embodied by Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, describing him as a beacon of truth and protector of human dignity.
The Vice-Chancellor of PAU, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, in his presidential address, paid rich tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, emphasizing that his unparalleled martyrdom continues to inspire generations to uphold the principles of righteousness, unity, and sacrifice. He also shared that series of events will be organized in commemoration of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
Earlier, Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, extended a warm welcome to the guests and audience. Students of PAU presented a Shabad and recited poems dedicated to the Guru’s life and message, adding a devotional ambience to the gathering.
The event was graced by the presence of senior officials of PAU, namely, Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, Dr KS Suri, Dr TS Riar, Dr Vishal Bector, S Gurpreet Singh Toor, Dr Neena Singla, Dr Deepaika Vig, S Gurmeet Singh, S Jaspal Singh, S Jaspal Singh Coach, Dr Bikramjit Singh, Dr ManjotKaur, Dr Amandeep Singh Brar, Dr Sandeep Singh Brar and Dr Buta Singh Dhillon; faculty members; students; and staff, who participated in large numbers to pay homage to the great Guru.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Ashoo Toor, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, and participants for making the occasion memorable and spiritually enriching.
