Mr Jagjeet Singh, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has brought laurels to the University by winning two prestigious awards at the National Congress of Entomology and Emerging Agrotechnologies (NCEEA-2025).
He was conferred with the “Best Oral Presentation Award” and the “Best M.Sc. Thesis Award” in recognition of his academic excellence and outstanding research contributions in the field of entomology.
The national event was jointly organized by the Entomological Science Academy (ESA), Division of Entomology, SKUAST-Jammu, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. Held from June 27 to 29, 2025, in the serene and picturesque surroundings of Sanasar, Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress brought together leading scientists, scholars, and policymakers from across the country to discuss the latest innovations in entomology and agrotechnology.
The awards were presented in a distinguished ceremony graced by eminent dignitaries, including Mr Mohammad Alyas Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Ramban; Dr RK Gupta, Professor and Head, Division of Entomology; and Dr SK Gupta, Director of Research, SKUAST-Jammu.
Mr Jagjeet Singh’s dual recognition at NCEEA-2025 not only underscores his individual brilliance but also reflects the strength of the research ecosystem at the PAU.
His achievements serve as an inspiration for young scientists and affirm the university’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in agricultural science. Mr Jagjeet is currently pursuing his doctorate programme under the mentorship of Dr Gaurav Kumar Taggar, Associate Director of Research.
