Patna Police, in a joint operation with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the SSP Cell, busted a suspected sex racket allegedly operating from a guest house in the Ghurdaur area under Rajiv Nagar police station limits and detained four women and a man, officials said on Saturday.
Acting on specific information, the police raided Ganpati Guest House and searched the G+4 premises from the ground floor to the fourth floor. Four women and one man were found in separate rooms and taken into custody.
Police said condoms and other materials allegedly linked to the suspected illegal activity were recovered from the guest house. The seized material was taken into possession and the premises were sealed as part of the investigation.
According to officials, complaints about suspicious activities at the guest house had been received for nearly six months. Following the complaints, the Patna Police and SIU team had been monitoring the premises for around two months while gathering information about the activities allegedly taking place there.
Police said the guest house owner, some staff members and several other men escaped through a rear exit during the raid. Their identities have been established, and teams are conducting raids at their suspected locations to apprehend them.
The five detained persons were taken to Rajiv Nagar police station, where they are being questioned in the presence of female officers.
A police official said the interrogation is focused on establishing the alleged network’s connections and determining how long the suspected operation had been functioning from the guest house.
Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
