Patiala Foundation, under its flagship initiative Project iHERITAGE, in collaboration with CSDIREKT, successfully organised another Heritage Walk, this time for the students of Government College for Girls, Patiala.
The walk was organized as part of the Foundation’s ongoing initiative KYC 2.0 (Know Your City), which seeks to familiarise young citizens with the rich cultural fabric of their hometown.
Students stepped beyond classrooms to engage with the living history of Patiala, exploring heritage sites, listening to local narratives, and appreciating architectural grandeur. The walk inspired participants to see themselves not merely as visitors, but as custodians of the city’s legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, CEO and Founder of Patiala Foundation, passed on his appreciation towards Principal Prof Dr. Swinder Singh Rekhi for readily agreeing to be a part of this project and Dr. Baljeet Kaur & Dr. Pooja Bansal, who accompanied the students, said, “Such walks are not only about revisiting the past but also about building a sense of belonging and shared responsibility among our youth.

Mr. Ahluwalia also extended an open invitation to all educational institutions of Patiala to join hands in making heritage walks a compulsory component of learning, fostering stronger connections with our rich history, the city’s identity and inculcating a sense of pride.
Through Project iHERITAGE, Patiala Foundation is reshaping the way learning happens by transforming history from textbooks into experiential journeys where heritage, culture, and civic responsibility converge. These immersive experiences spark curiosity, foster pride in one’s roots, and emphasise that sustainable cities are built when communities actively participate in preserving their shared environment.
This collaborative beginning with CSDIREKT further reinforces the belief that linking heritage awareness with education inspires responsible citizenship.
The walk concluded with reflections by students, who shared how the experience deepened their connection with Patiala and broadened their perspective on the role of citizens in nurturing cultural and civic values. Continuing this journey of discovery, Patiala Foundation will organise its next Mega Heritage Walk on November 9, 2025, at the Central State Library, Patiala, inviting citizens and students alike to rediscover the city’s intellectual and architectural heritage.
