Chandigarh, December 5, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Cabinet Minister Pargat Singh has reacted strongly to the accusations of SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal over appointment of 1158 new professors, the process of which was completed in just 45 days.

Pargat Singh took to Twitter and fired as many as 8 tweets questioning Sukhbir Badal’s moral right to question the process of appointments, which he claimed were done in a transparent manner.

The Tweets are self-explanatory and form a complete statement of the Cabinet Minister.

We reproduce all the tweets below for the readers of YesPunjab.com

Sukhbir Badal @officeofssbadal being agitated over higher education is like Kangana Ranaut turning into a farm activist.During the 15 years of Akali rule not a single appointment was made of permanent assistant professors and our govt colleges were left to ruin (1/8)

I initiated and completed the process in 45 days and recruited 1158 new professors. The recruitments were made on merit, were fully transparent and according to UGC guidelines.Interviews were scrapped to end favouritism or corruption like they used to happen in your tenure (2/8)

Extra 5 marks were given only to candidates teaching in Punjab govt colleges to ensure that Punjab youth gets priority in jobs in Punjab.Don’t you want Punjab youth doing jobs in Punjab ? (3/8)

PPSC was taking too much time to conduct the exams .Considering the immediate need of Assistant Professor ,I gave the task of conducting exams to GNDU and Pbi University who did a very swift and efficient job.Should we kill our colleges with our own hand? (4/8)

Jobs of guest faculty have been protected by giving them written assurance. We also gave them extra marks and age relaxation in lieu of their contribution. Why did you not made them permanent when you were in power and now playing cheap politics over it? (5/8)

The whole process has been very neat, clean, fast & expeditious.Though We have not got any complaint but taking cognizance of a newspaper report regarding certain allegations made by some candidates to VC Punjabi University Patiala, the govt. has already marked an enquiry. (6/8)

On the basis of the findings of the report, further exemplary action shall be taken.I have asked the VC Patiala not to publish the result of Punjabi enquiry report comes. We don’t want sermons of probity from someone in whose times mega scams like Ravi Sidhu used to happen? (7/8)

@officeofssbadal ,the high court has only asked questions about the extra 5 marks which we will explain in the next hearing.Your wild, baseless & fabricated allegations of a scam worth crores are figments of your imagination.Seems you have left Politics for stand up comedy.(8/8)
