Pak violates ‘ceasefire’, ‘blackout’ again in several districts of Punjab – Drones also seen in J&K

After Pakistan’s large-scale violation of the ‘ceasefire’ that came into effect between India and Pakistan at 5 pm on Saturday after the intervention of the US, the atmosphere has become tense again, due to which ‘blackout’ orders have been re-issued in at least 9 districts of Punjab. Pakistani drones have also been seen in Jammu and Kashmir, which has been confirmed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself. Apart from this, a blackout has also been announced in Ambala, Haryana.

It is worth mentioning that after US President Donald Trump’s tweet regarding the ceasefire between the two countries and the confirmation of the ceasefire by both the countries, people breathed a sigh of relief and blackout orders were withdrawn in various districts of Punjab, but as soon as night fell, drones started being seen in various places after around 8.30 pm, after which people became worried and the administration became alert.

In Punjab, blackout has not only been announced again in Amritsar, Patiala, Nawanshahr, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Muktsar, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur districts but has also been implemented. A two-hour blackout has also been announced in Patiala. Drones were seen in at least two districts, Pathankot and Fazilka. The other districts resorted to blackout as precautionary measure. Sirens have been reported to have sounded in Bathinda. People in Ludhiana have been asked to impose blackout voluntarily.

In a statement issued by Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, it has been said that as a precaution, street lights have been switched off in the city and no blackout has been declared. He has said that a necessary announcement will be made if any message about danger is received from the army.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a case of ceasefire violation came to light after several drones were seen in Srinagar, which was confirmed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself in a tweet. He expressed surprise and displeasure at this attitude of Pakistan. There are reports of drones being seen in Samba, Jammu.

There are also reports of drones being seen near the holy religious site of Vaishno Devi. Apart from this, blackout has been declared in Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan after drones were seen.

According to an agency news, Pakistan has also violated the ceasefire in Akhnoor, Mendhar, R.S. Pura, Chhambh, Bimbhar and Gurez sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. Blackout has been imposed in Kathua and Baramulla. Sirens were sounded in Akhnoor and Baramulla to alert people.
