Reacting to the arrest of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Aam Aadmi Party leaders stated that the AAP government is committed to eradicating drugs from Punjab. The “War Against Drugs” campaign is proof of this commitment. Anyone involved in the drug trade will not be spared.
CM Mann Takes Bold Action Against Drug Traffickers Without Caring About Political Gains or Losses: Baltej Pannu
Speaking on the matter, AAP leader Baltej Pannu said that it is well-known that the proliferation of drugs in Punjab happened during the Akali-BJP government. “Who was involved in this is no secret.
These people facilitated drug trade and destroyed an entire generation in Punjab. They provided political protection to drug traffickers and profited politically and financially from them,” Pannu said.
Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann, the AAP government is fighting the biggest battle against drugs to date. “No previous government had the courage to take such strong action against drug menace.
But CM Mann has risen above political gains and losses to launch this massive campaign against drugs and drug traffickers. The results of this will become evident in the coming days. This fight is for saving Punjab’s next generation,” Pannu added.
Only AAP Has the Courage to Take Such Major Action; No Other Party Dares to Do So: Deepak Bali
AAP Punjab General Secretary Deepak Bali stated that only an AAP government could take such bold action.
“No other government has ever dared to act against such a prominent leader. Previous governments, for their political and financial gains, destroyed thousands of families, orphaned countless children, and took children away from their parents. Yet, none of those leaders showed any sympathy for the victims,” Bali said.
Now, when the AAP government is taking action against those responsible, opposition leaders are creating an uproar. “This proves that their sympathy is not with the victims of drugs but with the drug traffickers,” Bali remarked.
He added, “The Aam Aadmi Party is committed to eradicating drugs from Punjab. This fight will continue until Punjab becomes completely drug-free. In the coming days, Punjab will emerge as a drug-free state.
Not a single trafficker will be allowed to stay here. Anyone involved in the drug trade will either go to jail or flee the state. There will be no other option. No one associated with drugs, no matter how powerful or influential, will be spared.”
AAP Government is Committed to Eradicating Drugs; This is the Biggest Action Yet in Our Fight Against Drugs: Neel Garg
AAP spokesperson Neel Garg called Majithia’s arrest the biggest action so far in their fight against drugs. “This arrest shows how serious Aam Aadmi Party and CM Bhagwant Mann are about addressing the drug problem,” Garg said.
He criticized opposition leaders, asking, “If someone is innocent, why the uproar and fear? Why is Bikram Majithia panicking if he is not guilty?” He added, “The law is taking its course; let it. Opposition leaders previously accused the AAP government of not acting against the ‘big fish’ in the drug trade.
Now that action has begun, they are creating chaos. This is both surprising and unfortunate. Instead of opposing the government, opposition leaders should support the anti-drug campaign because it concerns the safety of our next generation.”
Garg further pointed out that over the past two decades, drugs have ruined millions of youths in Punjab, destroyed thousands of families, and forced countless young people to leave the state. “Now, the AAP government is ensuring justice for these victims because we are more concerned about the future of Punjab’s youth than our own political future,” Garg concluded.
