Noted academician and Sikh scholar Dr. Rattan Singh Jaggi was conferred upon Panjab University, Chandigarh’s prestigious honour, the Gyan Ratna Award, by Jagdeep Dhankhar, the vice president of India.
Dr. Jaggi was honoured in recognition to his enormous contribution in the field of education and literature during its 70th convocation held on Sunday, 20th of May, 2023.
Dr Jaggi, a nonagenarian is an eminent scholar of Hindi and Punjabi with Gurmat and Bhakti Movement Literature being his forte.
Pertinently, Dr. Jaggi has penned 144 books on varied subjects viz. Sikh scriptures, medieval period literature, and Sikh philosophy besides encyclopedias of Sikh religious concepts and terminology.
