Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘security breach’ in Punjab, former PPCC president Sunil Jakhar said it was not acceptable and against Panjabiyat.
Taking to Twitter to express himself over the situation that developed Wednesday in the state, Jakhar said, “What has happened today is just not acceptable. It’s against Panjabiyat. A secure passage for the Prime Minister of India to address BJP’s political rally in Ferozpur should have been ensured. That’s how democracy works.”
This is in direct contrast to the statement of Congress national Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi as both of them said that the original programme of the Prime Minister was to fly to Ferozepur from Bathinda but an on the spot decision was taken to travel by road due to weather conditions.
