The Bharatiya Janata Party today came down heavily on misinformation campaign launched by Congress-led opposition parties vitiating the atmosphere of the country by provoking minorities, particularly Muslims.
Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP, today said no Muslim or persons belonging to any other minority in the country will lose citizenship due to CAA.
“A wrong impression is being created that the CAA would be detrimental to the interests of Muslims. Nothing could be more misappropriate than that,” Chugh said adding that in fact the CAA was about protecting the rights of all the citizens of the country.
“The fact of the matter is that PM Modi has honoured the the promise made by Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad and Jawaharlal Nehru to accommodate minorities victimized in neighbouring countries.
The BJP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has taken historic decisions during its 6-year regime in the interest of the country. “Successive Congress government could not muster the courage to take bold decisions and kept on dilly dallying vital decisions regarding core issues due to which the situation aggrevated,” he said.
Chugh said PM Modi has dared to resolve the issues which remained pending for decades for indecisiveness of the Congress-led governments. He said abolition of Article 370 and 35-A was hailed by one and all. Even as Rahul Gandhi had warned of blood-shed in Jammu and Kashmir, the UTs remained peaceful and the forces did not have to fire even a single shot to contain the situation.
