Jalandhar, September 27, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that keeping in view the orders issued by Punjab & Haryana High Court, no explosive license would be issued this year to store or sell firecrackers in the district.
In an order issued today, the DC said that as per High Court orders 20 percent licenses were to be issued of the total explosive licenses issued in the year 2016. He added that in that year only two licenses were issued by the administration of which 20 percent constitutes .4; thus, no license would be issued this year in the district.
However, he clarified that the decision has been taken for the areas falling outside the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar’s limit because the city area comes under the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate of Police which would take the decision for the explosive license for their area accordingly.
