New equations are likely during the ensuing election of new Executive Board of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). While giving details on this issue, Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, Expert in Delhi Gurdwara Affairs said that the Badal Akali Dal can be in great loss due to likely invasion of B.J.P. to get power of DSGMC.
Because of switching of loyalty to B.J.P by some elected members of DSGMC, neither the Badal group nor the B.J.P. supported members are in a position to get power in the DSGMC Executive Board.
Though Sarna Party and JAGO Party with mutual alliance of left -out members of Badal group can form new Committee, but such chances are very bleak due to sheer opposition by each other.
He said that in the present scenario, Manjit Singh’s JAGO Party and left-out members of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal can play a lead role in the constitution of the Committee because without their co-operation neither the Sarna group nor the B.J.P. group can take control of the management of DSGMC.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh said if B.J.P. directly interfere in the religious affairs of DSGMC and gain control over it, it will tantamount to gross violation of Delhi Gurdwara Act because Gurdwara Rules do not allow interference of any political party in the affairs of this religious body.
Mr Inder Mohan Singh, while giving other information, said that as per information received a meeting is likely to be called by the Director Gurdwara Elections in the first week of January, 2022 for left-out Co-option process in which apart from Co-option of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami as its nominee, another President out of the Registered Singh Sabha Gurdwaras of Delhi will be Co-opted.
He said that another meeting of all the elected and Co-opted members of DSGMC is expected to be called by the said Director in which after Oath-taking ceremony, election of the new Executive Board of DSGMC will be held.
