Nawanshahr officers exhort public to express solidarity with nation by hoisting National Flag on their houses

District Administrative officers today appealed to the residents of the district to hoist and display the Tricolour on their houses to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence.

The Tricolour was displayed at the local ADC office. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Verma along with SDMs Baljinder Dhillon, Navneet K Ball, DDPO Davinder Sharma said that we are the luckiest among our generations to have the opportunity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the country’s freedom.

Exhorting the residents to display National Flags on their houses, ADC Verma said that the district administration has distributed about 70000 flags in the district through the Nodal Officer, Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, DDPO Davinder Sharma. These flags have been provided at the prescribed rate of Rs 21 for 20×30 inches size while Rs 16.50 for 16×24 inches size.

He clarified that one can display Flag on his/her building by getting it from anywhere provided it should be rectangular in shape having a ratio of 3:2. Apart from that the material should be polyester, spun, woolen, Khadi etc. may be handwoven or machine built.

He said that persons displaying tricolour should take care of the respect and honour of the National Flag mentioned in Flag Code of India-2002.
