Nawanshahr DC assures fulsome support to Max Films in setting up Plastic Recycling Plant

In order to make Nawanshahr a plastic free, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa on Friday said that the administration would provide wholeheartedly support to the Max Specialty Films in establishing plastic recycling plant in the district.

During a visit to the local unit of the company, the Deputy Commissioner said that as the company has been successfully running its plastic recycling unit at Mandi Gobindgarh, it would get a huge response here too and would help to make Nawanshahr a plastic free district.

He said that the administration would locate suitable locations to the company in operating a plant having capacity of 10 to 12 tonnes. DC said that these plants would not only contribute towards cleanliness but would also generate employment.

NPS Randhawa said that the administration would also make concentrated efforts to educate the residents of the district about various ways in which they can keep our district clean by using jute bags.

He said that awareness rallies would be organised in every part of the district to encourage the people to shun the use of plastic carry bags. Later, the representatives of the company also said that they would soon take a call on the setting up of a plant in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district.

They also detailed the deputy commissioner about the functioning of the company through a presentation.

Prominent among present on the occasion included Max Films CEO K Manohar, Navneet Malhotra, Ritesh Trikha, Avinash Kumar Singh and others.
