Senior leaders and legislators of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Manjit Singh Bilaspur and Kulwant Singh Pandori, have demanded immediate intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the stone-pelting incident on the holy shrine of Nankana Sahib (now in Pakistan) by an unruly mob, suspecting a deep conspiracy behind the sacrilegious act.

In a statement issued from party headquarters, the AAP leaders said that such an unfortunate incident of targeting the shrine of Guru Nanak Dev could not take place without a deep conspiracy hatched by desperadoes, saying the sensitive issue called for a time-bound, as it involved sentiments of the teeming millions of Nanak Nam Leva Sangat across the world.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that India should exert pressure on its subcontinent by employing its diplomatic approach to expose the deep-rooted conspiracy behind the act, saying it was a condemnable act on the part of certain divisive forces, out to spreading communal poison among the minority Hindu-Sikh community living in Pakistan.

The AAP leaders said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan should order an inquiry into the incident to send out a strong message across the subcontinent that no mischief-monger could harm the minority communities in Pakistan.

MLAs Bilaspur and Pandori said that through the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev, it was possible to contain acts violence, hatred, bigotry and sectarianism, clearing the decks for peaceful co-existence.

They appealed to the NRI Punjabis and Sikhs comnd other minority communities across world to exert pressure through their respective embassies on the Pakistan dispensation to ensure that the lives of all minority communities, including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Ahmadis, et al, living in Pakistan were not at stake.
