My detractors all-out to eliminate me: Kejriwal

Bhawanigarh / Sangrur, May 14, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said here on Wednesday that he understood the problems of a common man since he came from a similar background. He said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had done in four years in Delhi what the subsequent SAD-BJP and Congress government could not do during the last 70 years.

Kejriwal, who is currently in Punjab in support of the Party candidate for Lok Sabha elections, Bhagwant Mann, in his address to the people during a road show at Bhawanigarh, said that his government in Delhi had established paradigms in the health, education and power sector.

He said when his government took over the reins in Delhi, electricity was the costlier in Delhi, which was now the cheapest in the country, he said. He said in the event of ‘cut’, private electricity companies had to pay Rs 50 per hour to the consumers.

Kejriwal said that if our ‘intentions’ and policies are genuine, nothing was impossible to achieve. He accused the SAD-BJP and Congress governments of betraying the people of the state and were indulging in an open ‘loot’, stating that all were in league with each other to eliminate me. He said he had survived several attacks on him in the recent past.

Addressing people at Sangrur, Kejriwal said, “Your own Bhagwant Mann is brave son of the soil and upright, who is dedicated to Punjab and its people. He is the one who raised your issues and concerns in the Parliament during his 5-year term forcing all concerned, including Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi and other to lend their ears. I don’t think there is no issue which he had not raised in the Parliament.

The most commendable work that he has done for the first time in the history of Parliament – offering tributes to the brave ‘sahibzadas’ of the 10 Sikh Master Guru Gobind Singh on the floor of the House. He asked them as to how many MPs, including Sukhbir Badal, Capt. Amarinder Singh, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa they (the people) sent to represent them”

While addressing the people, Kejriwal further said “The Chief Minister of Delhi has come today to ask you for your vote and support. Did Capt Amarinder Singh come to you?” When they replied the negative, Kejriwal said,” If he cannot even have the common courtesy of coming to you to make an appeal for your vote and support, why would you vote for such a person or his party?”

Kejriwal said Captain Amarinder Singh formed his government by making false promises to people of the state. Kejriwal asked people whether they got jobs in every household? Did complete loan waiver happen to offering financial relief to farmers and farmhands? Did the youth get smart phones and unemployment allowance?

Did the old, the widows and physically challenged persons get enhance pension worth Rs 2500? On receiving an answer in the negative, Kejriwal said that Captain backtracked on his promises, while his government fulfilled all its promises during the 4-yaer made to the people.

During the road show, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, Chairman of Election Campaign Committee Aman Arora, Meet Hayer, Kulwant Singh Pandori (MLAs), Dalbir Singh Dhillon, Dinesh Bansal, Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Rajwant Singh Ghuli, and other leaders were present.
