Dr. Munish Jindal, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computational Sciences, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, has been conferred with the prestigious ISTE Best Teacher Award 2025 in recognition of his exceptional contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership.
In a graceful felicitation ceremony held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office on Monday, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of MRSPTU, personally honoured Dr. Jindal for this distinguished achievement. The ceremony was graced by Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, faculty members, and staff, who extended their heartfelt felicitations and commended Dr. Jindal’s dedication, innovation, and scholarly distinction.
A highly accomplished academician and researcher, Dr. Jindal earned his M.E. (2008) and Ph.D. (2015) in Computer Science & Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala.
Over the years, he has authored six books, secured five patents, and published over 160 research papers in reputed international journals and conferences, including IEEE, ACM, and Springer. His impactful research has garnered over 10,000 citations with an impressive h-index of 49, underscoring his global scholarly influence.
Dr. Jindal has supervised nine Ph.D. scholars and continues to mentor five more, contributing to cutting-edge research in computer vision, machine learning, handwriting recognition, and pattern recognition.
His academic excellence has previously been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Panjab University Shiv Nath Rai Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award (2023) and the IETE–Biman Bihari Sen Memorial Award (2024). The ISTE Best Teacher Award 2025 further crowns his exemplary career, reaffirming his stature as a trailblazer in computational sciences and higher education.
