With a clear focus on reviewing academic reforms and strengthening institutional coordination, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organised an interactive review meeting with its affiliated colleges from Sangrur and Barnana districts under the outreach initiative “University Aapke Dwaar (MRSPTU at Your Doorstep)”.
The programme was held at Bhai Gurdas Group of Colleges, Sangrur.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and witnessed the participation of Chairmen, Directors, Principals and senior representatives of 20 affiliated colleges from the two districts. The interaction aimed to foster closer engagement between the University and its affiliated institutions while ensuring alignment with evolving academic and regulatory priorities.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sharma said the initiative is designed to deepen coordination, communication and academic collaboration across the MRSPTU ecosystem. He led focused deliberations on the effective implementation of NEP-2020, academic audits, examination reforms, introduction of need-based programmes, digital transformation, curriculum upgradation and enhancement of teaching–learning quality.
Emphasising outcome-oriented education, he urged colleges to intensify skill development initiatives, introduce industry-aligned and future-ready courses, promote a research-driven academic culture, upgrade infrastructure and adopt robust, student-centric practices.
The meeting also deliberated on strategies to improve academic standards, strengthen the affiliation framework, enhance student enrolment, expand faculty and student development initiatives, ensure NAAC preparedness and build strong industry linkages through meaningful MoUs. Issues related to governance, quality assurance and institutional sustainability were discussed in detail.
Assuring full institutional support, the Vice Chancellor reiterated that MRSPTU remains committed to the timely, transparent and solution-oriented resolution of academic, administrative, examination and policy-related matters concerning its affiliated colleges. Representatives from the participating institutions shared their concerns and suggestions, to which Prof. Sharma assured prompt follow-up and constructive engagement.
The programme was organised by Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Director, College Development Council (CDC), who welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the initiative. University officials present on the occasion included Dr. Yadwinder Sharma, Assistant Director (CDC), and Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Director, PIT, Rajpura.
On behalf of the affiliated colleges, Dr. Guninderjit Singh Jawandha, Chairman, Bhai Gurdas Group of Institutions, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his open dialogue and responsiveness to institutional issues. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Tanuja Srivastava, Director, BGIET, Sangrur.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Sharma reaffirmed MRSPTU’s commitment to providing continuous guidance, timely services and proactive institutional support to ensure sustained academic excellence and improved student outcomes across affiliated colleges of Sangrur and Barnala districts.
