Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda and Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR), HPCL- Mittal Energy Ltd. (HMEL) experts held a panel meeting to explore the various aspects of mutual collaborations and joint ventures at the Vice Chancellor conference room here on Friday.
The panel meeting chaired by MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu was attended by Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar (Registrar), Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu (Director-Training & Placement), Dr. Manjeet Bansal (Dean Consultancy & Industry Linkage), Dr. Ashish Baldi (Dean Research & Development), Dr. Kawaljit Singh Sandhu (Associate Dean Academics), Mr. Harjinder Singh Sidhu- Director Public Relations and Dr. Rajesh Gupta (Professor Incharge, Corporate Resource Centre) all from the MRSPTU, while a team of senior officials of HMEL led by Mr. Sanket Thapar, Mr. Vishwa Mohan Prasad, Mr. Jiwanjot Singh and Mr. A Balasubrahmanyam held detailed deliberations to finalize the mutual areas of interest for joint ventures.
Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu initiated the talks, “both the organisations should work on various mutually collaborated fields for the welfare of employees and students”. He also acknowledged the initiatives being taken by HMEL-GGS refinery under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the welfare of the society. He also suggested the teams to work out on a model for academic-industry partnership to run need based projects with mutual collaboration. The panel also discussed various aspects of collaborating on Research and Development projects between both the organisations, besides planning on internships and placements.
Chief Operating Officer-GGS Refinery HMEL, Shri A S Basu played crucial role in arranging the meeting.
It may be mentioned here that Guru Gobind Singh Refinery (GGSR) is a private sector refinery owned by HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL).
