MRSPTU Agri-Sciences Dept’s Fresher’s Party; Gursher Singh, Nimrat Sidhu crowned Mr & Miss Fresher 2024

The School of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, organized its annual fresher’s party, “Ibtida, (the beginning) ” with grandeur at the university auditorium.

This event designed to welcome the new batch of students, brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests for an evening filled with excitement, talent, and celebration.

The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Mr. Fresher 2024 and Ms. Fresher 2024, with Gursher Singh and Nimrat Sidhu taking home the coveted titles. While Gursewak Singh and Manveer Kaur were recognized as Mr. Handsome and Ms. Beautiful of the event, while Gurpreet Singh and Ramandeep Kaur were awarded the titles of Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented for their outstanding performances.

The event was graced by prominent guests, including Sardar Gurtej Singh Chaany, Managing Director of Chaany Agro Industries, Siryewala and Neeraj Setia, General Manager of the District Industries Center, Bathinda.

The distinguished guests encouraged students to pursue their passions and shared invaluable insights on professional and personal development.

Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal, Vice Chancellor of MRSPTU, along with other notable attendees such as University Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh, Head of department, Dr. Jasvir Singh Tiwana P Prof. Rajesh Gupta, Head of the Department of Food Science Dr. Kanwaljit Sandhu, Chief Librarian Dr. Iqbal Singh and Director Public Relations Harjinder Singh Sidhu extended a warm welcome to the guests and appreciated the efforts made by the university’s faculty and staff.

In his inspiring address, Gurtej Singh Chaany shared his journey with Channy Agro Industries, emphasizing the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable farming practices.

An award-winning environmentalist, Chaany urged the students to embrace entrepreneurship and actively engage in solving agricultural challenges. He also made a significant contribution by donating a chopper shredder worth Rs. 1, 75,000 to the university.

Neeraj Setia, General Manager of the District Industries Center, Bathinda, addressed the students, offering guidance on industrial training and career opportunities. He assured his support to the university in facilitating internships and employment opportunities for students, further strengthening MRSPTU’s industry ties.

The evening unfolded with vibrant performances, including Punjabi folk dances like Gidha and Bhangra, poetry recitals, and musical performances, which highlighted the cultural richness of Punjab. The celebration concluded with the Ibtida Fresher’s Party 2024, where students and faculty enjoyed the festivities and welcomed the new batch with enthusiasm.

Notable organizers including Dr. J.S. Gill, Dr. Gurjant Singh Aulakh, Er. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Wineet Chawla, Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Dr. Malkit Singh, Amandeep Singh, Ramandeep Kaur, Navjot Kaur, Dr. Palvi Verma, Praveen Shelley, Seema Rani, Maninder Singh, and Jaspal Singh worked very hard to make the event successful.
