Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha has made a humble appeal to the Government of Delhi to immediately convene a meeting of the Sentence Review Board (SRB) in light of the Supreme Court’s order dated 15th October 2025.
Dr. Sahney informed that the review is sought for the early release of Sr. Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar, who has been in imprisonment since 1993. He appealed to the Delhi Government and Hon’ble CM Smt. Rekha Gupta to uphold the spirit of justice by convening the SRB meeting without delay and urged that the release be timed with Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab on 5th November, noting that Sr. Bhullar has completed over three decades in prison and deserves a fair review as per the Supreme Court’s directions.
Dr. Sahney also said that the Delhi Government had earlier recommended his release in the last SRB meeting held on 21st December 2023, but the motion was rejected by a 6:1 vote (as per minutes of the meeting enclosed).
Dr. Sahney have already demanded Parlole for Jagtar Singh Hawara, to meet his ailing mother who is severaly ill, when the similar paroles have been given to other prisoners frequently.
