MP Preneet Kaur raises issue of non Availability of funds under the rural development schemes in Parliament

Delhi/Patiala, March 31, 2022 (Yes Punjab News)
Member of Parliament from Patiala Preneet Kaur today raised the issue of non availability of funds for rural development schemes of Pardhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, National Agriculture Development Scheme and Dark Zone intervention scheme in Lok Sabha today.

Speaking while the ‘Matters of urgent public importance’ were being heard, the MP Patiala informed the house that, “During the year 2020-21 29 villages from Patiala district were selected under the Pardhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, in which Rs 20 lakh are given for the development of villages that have over 50% SC population, but unfortunately no funds were allocated by the Government of India.”

She further pointed out 3 more schemes under which funds weren’t received namely the National Agriculture Development Scheme under which 90% subsidy is being given for the construction of underground pipeline drainage system project, RKVY (Cotton/Maze Drip Irrigation) scheme in which irrigation of the crops is being done by Drip irrigation and the dark zone intervention scheme in which 100% Subsidy is given for purifying the water of the village drain (Chapad) which is then supplied through pipelines for irrigation purpose.

Urging the Government of India to look into this matter Smt. Preneet Kaur requested that, “The adequate funds for these rural development schemes should be immediately allocated for Patiala district, so that these schemes can be implemented on the ground and their real benefits can be provided to the public.”
