More teachers to be pumped in to impart Quality Education in Govt. Schools: Singla

Education Minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today said that in order to impart quality education to the students, especially in the rural areas, the state government would pump in more teachers in the Government schools located in these areas.

Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of an a function to felicitate the students participating in the Zonal Level Co-Curricular Academic Competitions here today the Government Senior Secondary School Nehru Garden, the Minister reiterated the firm commitment of the state government to ensure accessible and quality education the students of weaker and underprivileged sections of the society.

He said that for this if need arises more teachers would be pressed in into the rural areas. Mr. Singla said that for this purpose by April1, 2020 the teachers would be assigned on these stations for which the recruitment process has been started.

The Minister said that the policy of rationalization of the teachers have produced the desired results. He said that in order to bring transparency in the transfers and postings of the teachers, the online transfer policy was implemented. Mr. Singla said that this policy has produced desired results and till now 7000 teachers have been posted/ transfer online based on their ACRs and their ability.

Replying to another query, the Minister said that the state government would pay heed towards genuine demands of the teachers. He said that justifiable increase would be made in the RMSA and Sikhaya providers rendering their services in the department.

Mr. Singla said that the Roadmap would be implemented for all the teachers of all the cadres with probation period.

On another query, the Minister said that he will hold talks with transport dept for ensuring safety of the students being ferried in autos and buses by private schools in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the function was aimed at commemorating the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that the students from 6th to 8th classes showcased their talent in various cultural items adding that students from Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Moga, Barnala, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Hoshiarpur districts have participated in the various events that include Song, Cultural Dance Giddha and bhangra, Declamation, Painting and others.

Mr. Singla said that extra-curricular activities provide a platform to the students for exhibiting their skills besides instilling a sense of confidence amongst them adding that such competitions inspire the students to excel in varied fields of art and culture.

On the occasion MLAs Mr. Rajinder Beri and Mr. Hardev Singh Laddi, Chairman PUNSUP Mr. Tejinder Singh Bittu, Chairman PSEB Mr. Manohar Kant Kalohia, District Education Officers Mr. Harvinder Pal Singh and Mr. Ram Pal Saini, District Youth Congress President Mr. Ashwin Bhalla and others were also present.
