Mohan Lal Phillauria and Harphool Singh conferred with ‘Kewal Vig Award-2019’

Noted Punjabi short story writer Mohan Lal Philauria and Punjabi Poet Harphool Singh conferred with ‘Kewal Vig Award-2019’ as best writer and best poet respectively. In a presentation ceremony was held to commemorate the 27th death anniversary of Sh. Kewal Vig, at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar.

Jatinder Mohan Vig, Chairman of Kewal Vig Foundation welcomed the guests and said that Kewal Vig Memorial Award was instituted since 1994, in the memory of late Kewal Vig, founder editor of Punjabi magazine ‘Janta Sansar’.

On every death anniversary of Late Mr. Kewal Vig, these awards presented. Noted singers Pammi Hanspal and Surinder Gulshan presented Gazals of Harphool Singh. Prof. Devinder Mand and Prof. Kulwant Singh Aujla read their papers respectively.

S. Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota, IPS, D.G.P. Armed Battalions, Punjab, Chief Guest of this award function, said that writers and poets play significant role in making ideal society. S. Kulwant Singh, IAS, ADC Jalandhar, Sh. Ramesh Chander, Ambassador-IFS (Retd.), Sh. B.K. Virdi, Joint Director GST., S. Chetan Singh Director Language Deptt. Pb, (Retd.), S. Rachhpal Singh Pal Punjabi Poet (Rafi on Punjab) spoke on the occasion and pay tribute to Sh. Kewal Vig. Shiv Kanwar Singh Sandhu thanked all the guests and said that Sh. Kewal Vig had passion for Punjabi Laguage Literature adding that he was a true votary of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat.

It is mentioned that 57 personalities of Literature had already been receipents of this award so far.
