District Moga has bagged the first position in the country in the field of creating awareness among the people about the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by the Government of India.
For this, Moga Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans will be honoured with National Award on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Mission Diwas on October 2. The function would be conducted virtually.
While sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans said that under this mission people in the country, especially in rural areas, were being sensitized about keeping their surroundings clean, use of toilets and water conservation.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Jal Shakti had sought nominations in three categories (Swachh Sunder Samudayak Sochalaya, Samudayak Sochalaya Abhiyan, Gandagi Mukt Bharat). District Moga bagged the first position in the Gandagi Mukt Bharat Campaign.
He said that under this campaign awareness campaign was spread in district Moga through wall painting and other means which was much appreciated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
He also congratulated Mr Jaswinder Singh Chahal and his entire team of Water Supply and Sanitation Department, posted in District Moga, for this award. Mr Hans appealed to the authorities and the people to maintain the status of District Moga at the national level.
