Modi summed up our cultural ethos at UN: Shah

New Delhi, Sep 28, 2019 –

Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah on Friday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly as historic, saying he put India on world stage as a leading voice of reason.

“I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the historic speech at UNGA. He perfectly summed up our cultural ethos, aspirations of 130 crore Indians and our resolve to build a better future for our people. Prime Minister Modi has put India on the world stage as a leading voice of reason and purpose,” Shah tweeted.

His remarks came soon after Modi made his speech at the UNGA.

Addressing the 74th UN General Assembly, Modi in a strong message against terror said India has given the world a message of peace, Buddha, and not war, ‘yuddh’, and that is why its voice not only carries seriousness when it alerts the world against terrorism, but anger too — in an oblique reference to terrorism in India backed by Pakistan-backed elements.

The Prime Minister also said that a “world divided on the issue of terror” harms the very principles on which the UN was created.  (Agency)
