Chandigarh, June 26, 2020 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Sunil Jakhar has said that due to lack of leadership in the Union Government, the reputation of the country in the international arena was being tarnished and the precious lives of our soldiers lost.

Paying homage to the heroic soldiers who sacrificed their lives while protecting borders of the country, at a function held at the Sector-3 War Memorialhere today, Jakhar said that Indian army was capable of overcoming any difficulty butdue to lackluster policy of the union govt, morale of the army and civilians was declining. A call for the function was given by the AICC.

Jakhar said that Indians never shy away from getting martyred while protecting our borders but the present NDA government was sending unarmed soldiers to be martyred in a tense atmosphere which is not acceptable. Had our jawans been given weapons, they would have done more and many times more damage to the enemy.

The state Congress chief asked PM Narendra Modi to make it clear to the people that when the government was aware of the tension in the Galwan Valley and a few days ago there was also a clash with the enemy, then why the jawans were sent without weapons?

He also asked the Union Government to explain how China had taken over the country’s land when PM Modi used to claim closeness with the Chinese President. “Even now the entire country and all the political parties were with the Union government to take appropriate decision but the weakness of the Union government was causing embarrassment to all, he added.

Cabinet minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, legislators Darshan Singh Brar, Harjot Kamal, Davinder Singh Ghubaya, Parminder Singh Pinki, Kulbir Singh Zira, Former Minister Harminder Singh Jassi, State Youth Congress president Barinder Singh Dhillon and Khushbaz Singh Jatana Bathinda were also present.
