In a significant step towards strengthening the basic infrastructure of Mohali assembly segment, MLA Kulwant Singh today formally inaugurated the construction and repair works of four major roads in his constituency. These development projects, costing around Rs 2.13 crore, aim to improve connectivity and ensure smoother travel for residents of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that all these projects are part of the Chief Minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government’s commitment to providing high-quality infrastructure across the state. He assured that all works will be executed as per top quality standards, with a five-year maintenance mandatory clause, and are targeted to be completed within six months.
Providing details of the projects, the MLA informed that Dhuraly to Raipur Khurd Road (1.15 km long, widening from 10 ft to 18 ft) will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 84.48 lakh. The road, last constructed in 2018, will have 80 mm paver blocks installed, with the remaining portion built using bitumen.
Similarly, Dhirpur to Gobindgarh Road (1.45 km long, 10 ft wide) will be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh, including a five-year maintenance provision. This road was last built in 2016.
Gigge Majra to Godana Road (1.76 km long, 10 ft wide) will be improved at a cost of Rs 38.26 lakh, with 80 mm paver blocks and bituminous surfacing. This project will also include a five-year maintenance plan.
Daun to Ramgarh Road (1.33 km long, 15 ft wide) will be renovated and widened at a cost of Rs 61 lakh. This road was last repaired in 2018 and will now be reconstructed with 80 mm paver blocks.
MLA Kulwant Singh further said that these development projects will transform the infrastructure landscape of the area and provide residents with modern facilities.
Prominent local representatives including Jagjit Singh (Gobindgarh), Harjinder Singh (Sarpanch, Dhirpur), Gurjant Singh (Sarpanch, Godana), Satnam Singh (Sarpanch, Gigge Majra), Sukhjeet Kaur (Sarpanch, Daun), Malkeet Singh (Block President, Daun), and several panchayat members and local councillors were present on the occasion.
