MLA Dera Bassi, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, today visited village Amlala and nearby rural areas to review the situation of the Ghaggar river bundh and water flow. He interacted with local residents and officials to take stock of the ground situation and assured them of timely preventive measures by the administration.
Later, the MLA, along with his team, reached Mubarakpur-Dhakoli Causeway to personally assess the water level and its impact on traffic movement. During the inspection, he directed the traffic police to remain alert and to immediately divert traffic in case of rising water levels, ensuring safety of commuters.
Randhawa said that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens. He appealed to the residents of low-lying areas to stay vigilant and cooperate with the local administration during this monsoon period.
The MLA also emphasized that the local administration is keeping constant watch on the water situation and all necessary steps will be taken promptly to tackle any emergency. He assured that special attention is being given to vulnerable points along the Ghaggar river.
