Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state president Bhagwant Mann blamed Chief Minister Amarinder Singh for unbridled corona cases and the rising death toll in Punjab.
Addressing a joint press conference with Senior party leader and MLA Prof. Baljinder Kaur, he said, “Corona has taken a terrible turn in Punjab due to the Raja’s arrogant thinking, incompetent administration in controlling the virus”
Mann said that Maharaja has now woken up from slumber a bit which is attributable to the constant knocking by Aam Aadmi Party . After a gap of Five months, government has started thinking of food for the families of isolated patients and has suddenly developed compassion for their forgotten Patiala constituency. Actually, they are not concerned about the people rather the current development is a result of their rapidly losing political ground of the Maharaja”
Describing the false propaganda of the Chief Minister and the Congressmen against the AAP’s nationwide oximeter campaign launched by AAP to help the people and the government in the war against corona, a result of confused state of mind, Bhagwant Mann said that on one hand the Raja Sahib is terming the role of oximeters in investigation of corona cases as inessential, while on the other hand, the Chief Minister himself is ordering 50,000 oximeters.
Will the Chief Minister make it clear to the people in what arrogance he is not ready to seek the help of AAP? According to Mann, in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal sought the help of all political, social and religious organizations to defeat Corona without any hesitation, saying that all must fight unitedly against Corona.
Regarding the teams being deployed by the Union Ministry of Health in view of the uncontrollable situation in Punjab, Bhagwant Mann said that what we (AAP) have been saying for months about the poor arrangements of the Punjab Government and the pathetic hospitals has now been endorsed by the Center. Now will the Chief Minister reject the help of central teams? At the national level, the corona mortality rate has come down from 3.36 per cent to 1.81 per cent, while in Punjab it has risen to 2.64 per cent.
Addressing the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann said, “Raja Sahib! Take a leave from Arusa Alam and come out of farmhouse to take a look at the plight of the people and health care system of your government. “
Bhagwant Mann accused Pakistani woman journalist Arusa Alam of interfering in government affairs and termed the friendship between Maharaja Amarinder Singh and Arusa Alam a threat to national security. Mann said he would raise a question in Parliament who is behind the repeated extension of Arusa Alam’s visa and how it was happening.
Lashing out at Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann said, ” now that when you have awaken from your slumber due to constant shocks by AAP, act swiftly by dismissing Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who was caught up in the scholarship scam and issue directions to register cases against liquor mafia including Congress MLAs and leaders under whose patronage it has flourished in the State.
While detailing about the oximeter campaign of AAP, Prof. Baljinder Kaur MLA saidthat at least one oxygen testing center was being set up in each village which would be managed and looked after by competently trained Oxi Mitra’ (‘AAP’ volunteer). Training has already started in eight Lok Sabha constituencies and supply of kits has also been initiated. Each kit also includes pamphlets written by experts on oximeter sanitizers, gloves, masks and corona protection.
