A group of Management Students along with faculty from School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited Food Industry Business Incubation Centre (FIBIC), Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, today.
Students from SBS, who are pursuing postgraduate course, namely Management of Food Processing Industry made certain queries related to food value chain, labelling branding and commercialization of technology, which were addressed by Dr Poonam A Sachdev, Principal Food Technologist (Vegetable)-cum-Head, Food Science and Technology, PAU.
Dr Arashdeep Singh, a food technology expert, explained food processing technology available at FIBIC and also showcased various processed food products made by PAU team.
Further, Dr Tarsem Singh Dhillon, Head, Department of Vegetable Science, PAU, showcased black carrot variety along with black carrot juice to address food value chain related issues of students.
The visit was organized by Dr Ramandeep Singh, Professor-cum-Director, SBS, who elaborated on agriprenuership, food value chain and motivated students to discuss their innovate business ideas with attending team, so that as a team, PAU can adopt innovation and further commercialize those innovations. This visit proved to be a fruitful integrated approach of different departments.
The Ph.D. students of Department of Food Science and Technology proposed a vote of thanks.
