Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government has taken a significant step to provide land and property-related services under a single roof for residents of Batala in Gurdaspur district by constructing a Tehsil Complex in Batala in a record time of 15 months, informed Punjab Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO.
He said that the initiatives undertaken by the Mann Government to provide maximum facilities to the state’s residents have begun showing meaningful results.
He informed that the Punjab government released a budget of over Rs.11 crore on April 5, 2023 for the construction of various facilities in the Batala Tehsil Complex including the SDM office, reader room, SDM court, waiting hall, canteen, entrance hall, porch, toilet block, fard center, sub-registrar office, staff room, registration room and offices for the Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar.
S. Harbhajan Singh ETO further said that due to tireless efforts of the Punjab government, the complex has been completed in just 15 months at a cost of over Rs.7.88 crore despite the initial estimated cost being over Rs.11 crore.
He said that this saving of more than Rs.3 crore was made possible due to Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s commitment to providing corruption-free governance and these saved funds will be utilized for other welfare and development projects.
