Manish Tewari writes to PM Modi, raises issue of construction of Banga-Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi Road

Nawanshahr, September 9, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

Sri Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari has raised the issue of the construction of Banga-Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi Road with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed his helplessness on the matter.

The MP wrote to the PM that before the parliamentary elections, Mr Gadkair had laid the foundation stone for the road to make it four-lane in February 2019. However, he added, later it was learnt that this was “in principle” national highway only. He said, when he met the Minister again, he was told that only the Prime Minister can get it sanctioned.

Urging the Prime Minister to issue instructions for the construction of the road for which foundation stone had been laid in February, Tewari said, this road becomes more important as state government is celebrating the 550thbirth anniversary of the First Master Guru Nanak Dev Ji and celebrations are being planned on a grand scale.

He said, it will be in the best interest of the pilgrims and the devotees if the road is constructed on the top priority so that people paying obeisance on the occasion of the 550thbirth anniversary celebrations can commute to Takaht Keshgarh Sahib also without any difficulty.
