In a significant initiative to promote the heritage tourism of Ludhiana, unique pictorial brochures depicting Ludhiana’s three iconic tourism landmarks were presented to His Excellency Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, by Harpreet Sandhu State Information Commissioner during the visit of Governor Punjab to Ludhiana.
The pictorial compilation highlights Ludhiana’s three prominent tourism sites “Bassian Kothi”, 200-year-old heritage monument having relevance with last Sikh ruler of Punjab Maharaja Duleep Singh; “Museum of Social History of Rural Punjab”, situated in the Punjab Agricultural University, portraying the cultural essence and traditions of rural Punjab; and the “Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum”, showcasing the valour and glorious military history of Punjab, situated on GT Road, Ludhiana.
This visual documentation, compiled by State Information Commissioner, Punjab Harpreet Sandhu, aims to create awareness among citizens and visitors about Ludhiana’s hidden historical and tourism cultural treasures.
Hon’ble Governor Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria appreciated the initiative as a meaningful effort towards promoting Punjab’s heritage legacy and emphasized the importance of highlighting such sites to encourage heritage-based tourism in the region and particularly the prominent three heritage tourism locations of district Ludhiana.
This way a meaningful step to revive interest in Ludhiana’s historical landmarks and showcase the Ludhiana’s rich cultural identity within the people of Ludhiana. Harpreet Sandhu State Information Commissioner Punjab stated that his crafted pictorial work is a noble contribution towards society.
