A delegation of 15 members from Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently visited the world top-ranked University of Russia, HSE University in St. Petersburg.

The delegation of 13 students, led by HOS Prof. Pavitar Prakash Singh and HOD Dr. Jitendra Singh, had the privilege of participating in a highly enriching Student Exchange and Summer School Programme in collaboration with HSE University.

This academic collaboration between LPU and HSE has further strengthened global learning opportunities for LPU students. The programme was funded by the host university.

During their visit, the LPU delegation attended special lectures, projects, and live tasks organized by HSE University, which provided valuable insights into various aspects of journalism and mass communication, fashion, and law.

The students also had the unique opportunity to visit HSE’s main campus, immersing themselves in the academic environment of the renowned university. A notable highlight of the programme was a visit to the esteemed national TV channel NTV in St. Petersburg, which offered the students valuable industry exposure.

As part of their engagement with HSE University, HOS Prof. Pavitar Prakash Singh delivered a lecture on “India and International Policy,” while HOD Dr. Jitendra Singh provided a comprehensive overview of the “Indian Media Scenario.”

Vice president of LPU Dr. Aman Mittal expressed his belief in the significance of global exposure and transformative learning experiences for LPU students.

He emphasized the value of such initiatives, as they not only broaden the horizons of students but also strengthen institutional ties, promoting cross-cultural understanding and knowledge exchange.

LPU also signed a MOU with the university encompassing academic exchange, joint educational and research programs, developing exchange programs for administrative and managerial staff, and other points of collaboration.

The cultural aspect of the programme was equally captivating, as the students embarked on exciting excursion tours to explore the ancient city of St. Petersburg.

They had the privilege of visiting iconic landmarks such as the Winter Palace, Hermitage Museum, St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral, Peter and Paul’s Fortress, City Centre, Nevsky Prospect, Kazan Cathedral, Field of Mars, Summer Garden, and Mariinsky Theatre.

These immersive experiences provided the students with a deeper understanding of Russian history, culture, and architecture.

In the previous year, LPU welcomed a delegation of 10 students and two faculty members, Dr. Mikhail Tyurikin and Dr. Oksana, from HSE for a 10-day visit. Their interactions with LPU students and faculty further strengthened the academic collaboration between the two institutions.
