Making agile moves to curb the spread of Corona pandemic in the state, Punjab Police has urged people to adhere the lockdown. Leading from the front is the Director General of Police, Dinkar Gupta who has requested people through Social Media to abide the curfew guidelines issued by the administration.
Gupta also suggested people to utilize this relatively free time to ameliorate their creativity and share innovative ideas to spread awareness on Corona virus.
“I would invite the people on social media especially the youngsters to utilize this time of curfew to enhance their creativity and share ideas to create awareness about Corona virus. We all should work together to curtail the spread of this nefarious disease to keep everyone safe,” Gupta said in a video that has gone viral on the Social Media.
“The Jawans of Punjab Police too are attentive on roads and doing a remarkable job and I appeal all of you to cooperate with administration to make implementation of the curfew easier,” Gupta said commending the initiatives taken by his force.
Punjab Police has launched this initiative to promote community policing and improve trust factor with citizenry in the hour of catastrophe. People privy to the development said that authorities may launch a campaign in the coming days to engage people and so that they stay at homes.
“This lockdown is to keep you and your family safe and Police will keep no stone unturned to help and serve the society,” he said reiterating that people must follow the norms of social distancing and use sanitizers while maintaining cleanliness in the surrounding.
Another video showing the humane and helping face of Punjab Police has also gone viral on Social Media. Police personnel are seen helping an elderly vegetable seller and assisting people in accessing the essential items in a safer and disciplined manner.
Gupta had released the first video of the series on Tuesday where he had shared guidelines to keep one safe from Corona.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also lauded the effective measures taken by the Punjab Police while sanctioning an amount of Rs 3 Crore to provide safe and healthy food packets to the Jawaans on duty.
