Leaving Congress & SAD, Zila Parishad & Block Samiti members join AAP in Punjab

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convoy is increasing exponentially with people from all walks of life in Punjab joining the party. The AAP gained strength when president of the Ambulance Union and other leaders, including Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members and retired Punjab Police Welfare Association, joined the party after leaving the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal.

AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, Dinesh Chadha and Malvinder Singh Kang, formally inducted and welcomed the leaders and union leaders at the party headquarters here on Monday.

Welcoming the leaders who joined the AAP, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the people from all walks of life in Punjab were joining the AAP as they were impressed by the pro-people policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and the work of the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi.

He said that Ranjit Singh and his son Harjinder Singh, the head of a prominent Congress family and former Sarpanch of Tharu village in Tarn Taran district had joined the Aam Aadmi Party along with their associates.

Cheema said that Harjinder Singh was the winning member of Zila Parishad Tarn Taran and Ranjit Singh was the district president of NRI Sabha and a senior Congress leader. While Jathedar Harjit Singh, resident of Lale Nangal village along with his associates left Akali Dal and joined the AAP.

He has been a member of Block Samiti twice and Sarpanch of the village five times. He has once contested for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

Cheema said that former Police Officer Satnam Singh Bains (PPS) has been serving in the Police Department for a long time and he was serving as the President of Retired Punjab Police Welfare Association. Similarly, Bikramjit Singh Saini has joined the Aam Aadmi Party, who is the All India president of 108 and 102 ambulance personnel serving the people of Punjab and the country.

The AAP leader said that Bikramjit Singh Saini from Khadoor village in Ludhiana district was a popular leader of ambulance personnel. On the occasion, Jathedar Harjit Singh said that the Akali Dal was now pursuing anti-Punjab and genocidal policies; due to which he decided to leave the Akali Dal and join the Aam Aadmi Party.

He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has always worked in the interest of the common man and the people would benefit from the formation of AAP government in Punjab.
