Due to the spread of the disease in the historic village of Dina Sahib, the World Cancer Care, an organization of Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, today provided a large consignment of medicines for the treatment of animals to Deputy Commissioner Moga Mr Sandeep Hans. A representative of the organization handed over the consignment to Mr Hans today.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Hans thanked Mr Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal and the organization World Cancer Care for their help and said that Punjab is an agriculture-oriented state where most of the people depend on agriculture and have been involved in this profession since time immemorial. Animal husbandry along with agriculture is also a lucrative business that is a great source of income for the villagers of Punjab.
Therefore the Punjab Government through its Department of Animal Husbandry is making all possible efforts to bring prosperity to the people of Punjab in this business through various pro-people schemes. The Punjab Government has been working closely with the cattle breeders in this business through other schemes besides financial assistance.
It may be recalled that the district administration had taken immediate steps to assess the deaths of the animals in this village and to express its condolences to the villagers and efforts were initiated to rescue the remaining animals. He also reviewed the treatment arrangements for the animals here.
The team of the Animal Husbandry Department has also taken samples of animals. A special team of the Animal Husbandry Department had also reached Ludhiana and Jalandhar. Talking to the Deputy Commissioner on the telephone, Mr Dhaliwal assured the villagers of all possible help and also expressed his grief over the heavy loss of livestock in the village.
