Khalsa College Physical Education Shifted to New Building, KCGC Chief Satyajit Majithia Inaugurates College

Khalsa College Physical Education (KCPE) was today shifted to a new building on the Khalsa College heritage campus, here. The College, which runs various bachelor degree and diplomas courses, also houses prestigious Khelo India-sponsored Khalsa Hockey Academy under the aegis of Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC).

KCGC President Satyajit Singh Majithia while inaugurating the multi-story College building said sports education and training was the need of the hour. “The College is offering the best of the physical education courses. The vast grounds in the vicinity of the College provides ample opportunities for the sports persons from the College to get training and practice diverse games”, said Majithia.

Accompanied by KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina and other office bearers, KCGC head hoped that the whole border belt will benefit from the sports college that is affiliated with Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, Patiala. “We need to train the sports personnel professionally for all games so that they can compete in national and international events. Many students from our institutions are playing in national games including Hockey”, he said.

Chhina said the four-story ultra-modern building was constructed in a record time so that the students start their current academic session from here. The indoor games are also encouraged within the building while the hockey, cricket, basketball, football and athletics grounds are available within the main campus, said Principal Dr.Kanwaljit Singh.

Though new, the building, he said, is constructed while keeping intact the original design and architecture style of the iconic Khalsa College heritage structure. KCGC office bearers including Additional honourary secretary S. Jatinder Singh Brar, Joint Secretary Rajbir Singh, Paramjit Singh Bal, Santokh Singh Sethi, and Members Gurpreet Singh Gill, Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon, Principals Dr. Mehal Singh, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur, Dr. Surinder Kaur, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Dr. HK Verma, Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani, S. Gurdev Singh, S. Nanak Singh of various sister concerns were present.
