Khaira won’t permit Paramjit Kaur Khalra to be independent candidate: Jagir Kaur

Chandigarh, April 18, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

The SAD (Taksali) supremo Ranjit Singh Brahmpura had stabbed the party nominee General (Retd) JJ Singh by withdrawing him from the electoral race in Khadoor Sahib and given General Sahib the shock of his life. Now, it is the turn of Brahmpura to be on receiving end because Punjab Democratic Alliance chief Sukhpal Singh Khaira has turned a blind eye to Brahmpura’s suggestion to field Khalra as independent candidate.

In a statement issued here today, the SAD nominee from Khadoor Sahib Jagir Kaur said what Brahmpura had done for Gen.JJ Singh, Khaira would give the same treatment to Brahmpura- by just ignoring his suggestions for fielding Khalra as independent candidate or joint candidate against Congress and SAD nominees.

Brahmpura had to make a request to him while starting campaign in favour of Khalra at his home turf Chola Sahib yesterday.

Realising that Khaira would hog the lime light and siphon off funds from fundamentalists and Khalistani NRIs, upset Brahmpura has publically demanded to field Khalra as independent candidate, said Jagir Kaur.

Brahmpura has urged Khaira to relieve Khalra from the party bond and let her contest as independent so that all like-minded parties may support her. Besides, Brahmpura has claimed that AAP convener Bhagwant Mann too had agreed to lend support to Khalara if she were fielded as independent or common candidate.

Jagir Kaur said that Khaira would never let Khalra be a joint or independent candidate as this is not in his nature. I had earlier predicted that Brahmpura would ditch General JJ Singh which was widely reported and my position was vindicated ten days later when Brahmpura dumped General Sahib.

Again, I know that Khaira won’t withdraw the tag of Punjab Ekta Party from Khalra, said Jagir Kaur adding that Khaira’s stoic silence over Brahmpura request for over 24 hours is surely a snub to veteran SAD (Taksali) Brahmpura.
