Khaira slams Badal for trivializing sacrilege issue, comparing Modi with Ibrahim Lincoln

Bathinda, May 13, 2019 (Yes Punjab News)

Sukhpal Singh Khaira President of Punjab Ekta Party(PEP), contesting Bathinda Lok Sabha seat today lambasted former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for trying to trivialize the issue of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib committed during his government and comparing Prime Minister Narender Modi with legendary former US president Ibrahim Lincoln.

Addressing series of election meetings in Multaina, Tiona, Jhanbha, Sardargarh, Virk Khurd, Gulabgarh, Kotshamir villages of Bathinda, Khaira said that sins of Badal family would not become lesser by downplaying the issue of sacrilege. He said that it was shameful that Badal has suggested to voters, sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib was no so important. He reminded Badal that sacrilege is indeed a key issue in this electi0on besides non-performance of Modi and Badal governments.

Khaira said that four youth who were protesting against sacrilege were killed in Nakodar in 1986 when Badal was Chief Minister and two youth were killed in Behbal Kalan for the same reason during Badal government in 2015. He said that Badal was man of dead conscience and now demanding votes for his daughter in law Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the name of Narender Modi.

Khaira said that Badal had touched 93 years of age and people of Punjab made him Chief Minister five times which he didn’t deserve. He stood exposed for his alignment with RSS and Congress. He accused that Badal was party to army attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib and held secret meetings with P.C.Alexander an advisor of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Khaira said that it was horrible that Badal compared Modi with former US president Ibrahim Lincoln, Modi had also called Badal Nelson Mandela of Punjab. He shamed Modi and Badal for their dubious credentials. Modi is anti-minority while Lincoln was a statesman who secured minorities and transformed America into world power. He added that Nelson Mandela was in jail for 27 years for the freedom of South Africa, alleging that Badal had faked his jail term. Like Badal, Mandela didn’t raise 600 buses, build luxury hotels and never back stabbed his own community, Khaira stated.

Khaira asked Badal to list even a single issue of Punjab resolved by him. Badal won several elections on issue of SYL Canal and sharing of river waters, transfer of Chandigarh and Haryana’s Punjabi speaking areas to Punjab and getting special status for Punjab on the pattern of neighboring hilly states. These issues remained unresolved even when SAD and BJP had their governments in Punjab, Haryana and in Center.

Khaira told Sukhbir Badal not to feel so proud of his father and not think of Nelson Mandela because his father’s name in the history will be written in bold black letters. He said that due to misdeeds of Badal family, people of Bathinda were not allowing Harsimrat Badal to enter their villages. Harsimrat Badal was member in the Modi government and she never raised any issue of Punjab in the cabinet but worked for growth of her family business. He said that Badal family will meet their fate sooner than later.
