Karadi Tales withdraws objectionable book ‘The Art of Tying a Pug’, Sirsa seeks apology

Chennai based publishing house Karadi Tales has withdrawn a controversial book ‘The Art of Tying a Pug’ after a legal notice was sent to it by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) which had asked the publishing house to withdraw the book and tender unqualified apology to the people immediately. Notice was sent by the DSGMC President Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

In a statement issued here today, Mr. Sirsa disclosed that after the issue came to the notice of DSGMC yesterday, its team led by legal Cell Chairman Jagdip Singh Kahlon worked on the issue.

He said that we had also told the company to apologize for the act and will ensure that company does so. He said that such blasphemous and hurtful actions of anyone can’t be tolerated at all.

Mr. Sirsa said that the cartoon and content published by the company has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. He said that such racially-biased content and presenting Sikhs in negative tone cannot be taken for granted. He said that he will work to ensure that the company is be banned worldwide for creating negativity in the impressionable minds of children.

He also disclosed that the DSGMC is taking action against Natasha Sharma and Priya Kuriyan for creating defamatory and racial content inciting hatred against Sikhs. He said that he will ensure that no one ever dares to mock our religion or disrespect Sikh traditions.
