Chandigarh/Chamkaur Sahib (Roopnagar), September 20, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
With an aim to bring government at the doorsteps of common man and provide justice to poor, the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday visited his constituency and paid rich tributes to elder Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Gurudwara Sri Katalgarh Sahib.

After paying his respects, the Chief Minister while addressing an impressive gathering at Grain Market Sri Chamkaur Sahib, said that justice would be done soon in Bargari sacrilege case as he is devout Sikh of Guru Sahib and can’t tolerate that culprits responsible for this crime are roaming freely.

Announcing Rs. 50 crore more especially for the development of Chamkaur Sahib Constituency, he further pointed out that every person of his constituency is like a Chief Minister and in an emotional vein said that people of his constituency admire him like a family member. In a brief speech, the Chief Minister also highlighted Theme Park project which would be inaugurated on November 6 besides work on other initiatives such as widening road from Roopnagar to Bela at a cost of Rs. 33 crore, Rs.114 crore for Bela Bridge, Rs. 10 crore for desilting of ponds, Two ITIs at Tripari and Rasoolpur, Skill university in 42 Acres of land at Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Rs. 97 crore has also begun.

Taking iron handedly the Akalis on the issue of Black Farm laws, the Chief Minister said that these laws have been drafted with the consent of Akali leadership and now they have resorted to playing petty politics on this issue to befool people. Challenging the Union Government, he said that he stands strongly with the agitating farmers.

The Chief Minister reiterated that he is a representative of every common man such as shopkeeper, lower or medium class. Lambasting corporate lobby, he said that he will always steadfastly support common man and doors of his house will remain open for every person but not for corporates.

Making an announcement to waive off electricity bills of water works schemes, he announced that connection will be restored and remaining bills will be waived off. “Sri Chamkaur Sahib would be developed as a world class tourist hub and theme park would be inaugurated on in November 6”, added Channi.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also thanked the Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on the occasion for bestowing grants with open hand to ensure overall prosperity of Sri Chamkaur Sahib Constituency.

On the occasion, the local leadership of the Congress Party also honoured the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister.
