Chandigarh, July 26, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
In a jolt to Congress, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s covering candidate for Lambi in 2017 Assembly elections and eminent former Lok Sabha member Jagdev Singh Khudian’s son, Gurmeet Singh Khudian joined the Aam Aadmi Party along with hundreds of his associates.

These include Sarpanchs, Panchs and Samiti members belonging to Lambi constituency. AAP Punjab president and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann, Punjab affairs co-incharge and MLA from Delhi, Raghav Chadha and MLAs Meet Hayer and Prof Baljinder Kaur formally welcomed the leader at a function held here on Monday.

Welcoming Gurmeet Singh Khudian and other leaders in the party, Bhagwant Mann said that personalities, who were worried and concerned to save Punjab, were now joining the Aam Aadmi Party and such good persons were welcomed in the party.

Mann said that the Khudian family is a reputed family of Malwa and this family has a good influence in Muktsar, Faridkot and Bathinda districts along with whole of Punjab. He said Gurmeet Khudian’s father Jagdev Singh Khudian has been a member of Lok Sabha from Faridkot and is highly regarded by the people of Punjab.

On the occasion, Raghav Chadha said that Gurmeet Singh Khudian is a people’s leader who has served the people with a spirit of sacrifice. He said that the Congress leaders in collusion with the Badals did not allow Gurmeet Singh Khudian to rise in politics.

It may be recalled that Gurmeet Singh Khudian has been an active Congress leader in Lambi Assembly constituency and district president, Mukstar. He was the covering candidate of Captain Amarinder Singh from Lambi constituency in the 2017 Assembly elections. The joining of Gurmeet Singh Khudian into the Aam Aadmi Party has made a major blow to the Congress party in Lambi Assembly constituency.

Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that he was impressed by the pro-people policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and the work done by the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi. He said that the Congress government had ignored Malwa and the Congress workers.

Khudian said that the Congress leaders were colluding with the Badal family to deceive the people of Punjab; that is why he and his associates left the Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that he would diligently perform every service rendered by the AAP and efforts would be made to form the AAP government in 2022.
