Jason Momoa: I love anti-heroes

Mumbai, June 9, 2026

Jason Momoa has talked about what makes his character Lobo in Supergirl a dream role. The Hollywood star said he loves someone who can be both good and bad and lives by a code.

What makes Lobo the dream role? Momoa said in a statement: “I love anti-heroes. I love someone who can be both good and bad and lives by a code. I think deep down there’s like a samurai code in him.”

He added: “And obviously I love the dreadlocks, I love the motorcycles, and his foul mouth, how everything about him is just crass, and the fact that he’s not afraid to punch everyone in the face and get into a rumble. It’s just a really fun comic book that I grew up with and that I love, and that’s the only one that I had all of it.”

Momoa shared that he had a lot of Spawn, and had some different Image comics, “but Lobo was one of the big ones for me, so I figured, let me take a shot at it.”

Delving further about how he worked on transforming into Lobo, Momoa shared: “I think the only time I’ve ever really experienced this kind of “whoa” transformation is on Aquaman, when I put on the gold suit. And Drogo (Game Of Thrones) kind of felt like that.”

“But with Lobo, everything’s covered, there are literally massive scleras in my eyes. Hands… everything is this character. And I think when I put it on, like the thing just came out. I was a bit nervous when we started, but then right when everything went on, you look at yourself and you’re like, whoa. The horns pop up, and you push him back in, and then you go get back in there.”

“Supergirl,” DC Studios’ newest feature film has Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El.

“Supergirl” reveals the origin of the interplanetary nomad Kara Zor-El, cousin of Kal-El, better known as Superman. Headstrong, worldly-wise, and often reckless, Supergirl exudes a brand of heroism all her own, truthful, relatable, and always on her own terms.

But when an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion. Together they undertake an epic, interstellar journey, struggling to balance one’s need for vengeance with the pursuit of justice and to save the life of Kara’s best friend, her dog Krypto.

Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, with David Corenswet, and Jason Momoa.

“Supergirl,” which will be in Cinemas on June 26 in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu, is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.(Agency)
